Stenik developed Douglas Perfumery Bulgaria's first mobile app for iOS and Android

In 2019, Stenik successfully developed the official online store for Douglas Bulgaria. After five years of successful collaboration, in 2024, the cosmetics giant once again entrusted our team to create its first mobile application for the Bulgarian market, aiming to provide a more convenient and intuitive shopping experience for its clients and mobile users, and to elevate its business to the next level.
We gladly took on the project, and our team developed a cross-platform mobile application based on Flutter technology, delivering two separate native applications for iOS and Android built from a single codebase.

Integration with the Magento store

Our app development team created a mobile application that is directly integrated with Douglas's Magento store. This allowed synchronization of the app with all related software systems of the merchant, including ERP systems, courier companies, payment platforms, loyalty programs, and more. Thanks to this integration, all data—from product catalogs and stock levels to order details and customer profiles—is kept up-to-date in the mobile app.
All orders placed through the app are recorded in Magento and processed in the standard way by the administrator. The management of promotions, special offers, and all other marketing activities is centralized through the Magento administrative panel, facilitating maintenance and administration for Douglas.

Advantages and features of the Douglas mobile app:

Intuitive interface and easy navigation

The app's design is fully aligned with Douglas's brand book and approved by the cosmetics giant's headquarters in Germany, similar to the online store. The interface follows all contemporary UI and UX trends in mobile commerce. The main navigation bar is conveniently positioned at the bottom of the screen (for access to the most important sections of the app), and at the top, users can select from additional tabs with categories and precise filters while shopping. An intuitive search engine is also available with an option to search for products by scanning a barcode. Users can scan the barcode of a product (e.g., one they already have at home) using their phone's camera in the app's search bar or in the "favorites" section of their profile. Upon finding the product and recognizing the result, a detailed product page automatically loads in the app, allowing the item to be added to the cart or the favorites list. Users can quickly order their products or find detailed information about the items they already own without having to search for them manually in the app.

Personalized offers and notifications

Users receive exclusive offers, news, and personalized recommendations based on their preferences, which are only available in the app. In their profile, users receive discount codes that they can use while shopping. Through push notifications, app users are among the first to learn about new products, promotions, discounts, and current beauty news.

Integration with the loyalty program - Beauty Card

  • Application for a new loyalty card: Users can apply for a new Beauty Card directly through the app, providing them access to exclusive bonuses, rewards, and the ability to accumulate points with every purchase or upon reaching a certain amount.
  • Digitization of an existing card: Users with a physical Beauty Card can digitize it in the app and manage their points directly from their profile. This combines all accumulated points from online and offline purchases into one digital card.

  • Using the digital card in stores via barcode: The digital barcode in the app allows users to verify their identity and use their points when shopping in Douglas's physical stores. When the barcode is scanned by store consultants, customers can benefit from their Beauty points and accumulate more without needing a physical card.

Integration of external software for cookie consent management

The Douglas mobile app uses external software for managing cookie consent, ensuring compliance with Omnibus regulatory requirements. This software allows users to manage their consent for third-party technologies that collect and process personal data directly from their profile. Users can set their preferences by category (such as marketing) and services (e.g., Usercentrics Consent Management Platform and Google Firebase Analytics). The software automatically updates consent information and keeps all settings current with the latest regulatory requirements, ensuring that the Douglas mobile app is always in compliance with legal changes.

Users can configure their cookie preferences when they first launch the app and at any time through their profile settings.

Availability check and quick order pickup

The app allows users to check product availability in physical stores and conveniently pick up online orders from a Douglas store of their choice.

  • Information on expected delivery is available on the product detail page.
  • Options for purchasing gift vouchers and digital Gift Cards.

  • Creating lists of favorite products, tracking promotions, and quickly adding items to the cart.
  • A variety of payment options, including online payments via iCard, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
  • Deliveries to Box Now, EasyBox lockers, and 2-hour delivery with Takeaway.
  • Option to add free samples, cards, and gift wrapping to the order.

The Douglas mobile app provides convenient shopping, personalized offers, and the latest beauty news. You can now download the app of your favorite cosmetics store—Douglas—from the App Store for iOS or the Google Play Store for Android and shop conveniently through your phone. Soon after the official launch of the mobile app in the App Store and Google Play Store, it quickly gained popularity, received its first orders and 5-star ratings, and topped the charts as the most downloaded shopping app in the Apple Store. We are delighted with the completed project and will continue to enhance the app's features to provide even greater shopping satisfaction on mobile devices to all Douglas customers.
