Douglas trusted Stenik to design an online store and consult it
Choosing the right platform and trusted partner to build a new online store was key to Douglas. It's no secret that the market is saturated with developers, which definitely makes it difficult for online merchants when tryin to find the best solution for their business needs. So was Douglas - they needed quality performance, a suitable platform and a stable partner to stand next to them. The whole Stenik's team was extremely pleased and excited to know that one of our favorite and loved by many cosmetic giants has chosen us to develop their online store!
How did we get started?
The development of the new online shop douglas.bg started with a detailed plan and the formation of a team responsible for the achieved results so far. Just a few meetings between the two sides was enough to give us a lot of creative energy and make us eager to get started. Right from the start, we were clear about the responsibility we take and the challenges that lie ahead, but that only motivates us to show even more what we are capable of.
Choosing a platform
For the needs of the project, the Stenik team relied on the latest version of the eCommerce platform Magento , namely Magento 2! It allowed us to provide not only stability and security, but also a familiar interface, user experience, as well as easy growth opportunities. Our certified and proven Magento specialists answered the needs and questions of Douglas and once again justified our clients' trust.
How we implemented the project
The pleasure of online shopping comes when you easily and quickly reach your favorite products. It is extremely important that everything is tidy and in no way creates tension in shopping, especially with regard to online cosmetics stores and fashion trends in any way. The Stenik team has extensive experience in the industry, so it is well aware of the line between simple perfection and overpriced impracticality. In the following lines, we will look behind the scenes and look at some of the main features and specifics we have implemented for the Douglas and Beauty Zone project.
1. Design
For the development of the Douglas online store, the Stenik team laid out a design covering the brand book approved by the cosmetics giant's headquarters in Germany. It is fully customized and implemented in Magento 2's UX and suited to Bulgarian online users.
And because details are important to us , we have paid attention to every thing an online user would appreciate. For example, we implemented a small icon for registered users that changes when logged in and is different for men and women. It is located in the upper right corner and guarantees a sense of uniqueness and commitment to consumers and the online store.
The address bar of Douglas's new online store is also different from any other. In a pleasant minty color that is characteristic of the brand, it "welcomes" consumers in combination with a graceful responsive version.
2. Basic functionalities
In the following lines, we will reveal some of the key features that have come to life on the Douglas Online Store page thanks to our Magento Certified Professionals.
- Detailed and unique Sphinx search engine . It shows the user the most sought after brands even before the first letter of the article is entered. When you enter a part of a word, it prompts and displays products containing the spelling. And that's not all. In addition to illustrating the products in question, it also allows you to add them to your cart or search for a product in a category.
- Custom navigation . Each menu is dynamic, with different categories. Consumers have access to new and promotional products from the homepage, which are also divided into different categories.
- At the stage of listing a stranger, we envisioned the possibility to select and visualize the different milliliters of perfumes, choose a different palette of colors for makeup and immediately add to the basket. When changing any of the above characteristics, the product is immediately displayed to the user, with the parameters set by him.
- The product details page contains detailed information for each item. Here users can get acquainted with the basic characteristics, composition, usage. The opportunity to render different palettes of colors, milliliters of perfume, is at stake again. In a detail page, users can also comment on the product and rate it.
- Considering the wide range of brands that Duglas perfumes offer, you will find a special alphabet in which they are presented in new online stores. Consumers can get acquainted with the offered brands of articles literally from A to Z, choose the preferred brand and open a new page in which to view products only and only from it.
- The top brands are also presented in separate detailed pages, each of which has been approved by the respective brand. They present current and loved products from the respective brand, facts about them and the technologies used. In this way, consumers can not only shop, but also have the opportunity to look into the world of proven brands and immerse themselves in the magic of the technologies they use
- We implemented a unique left navigation with a wide range of filters such as brand, price range, product type, and anything that would be of value to a true connoisseur of good cosmetics on the one hand and that would make it easier for the more unfamiliar of the variety of products available, on the other.
- Synchronization with ERP. All products in the Douglas Online Store are ERP-compliant, allowing you to track inventory on site and stay up-to-date. In addition, synchronization allows the updating of product characteristics.
- Delivery options with Rapido and Econt courier companies, as well as an option to deliver an item to a Douglas physical site.
- We took care of the full customer experience from the beginning until the very completion of the purchase. That is why the Shopping Basket of the online store has something to surprise consumers. Once they have finished their shopping, they have the opportunity to complete their order not just with payment, but with something much more enjoyable than that, namely gifts. Each user can add a card or free sample to their purchase, and in case they shop for a gift, they can also buy a suitable gift box.
The results
The long hours of programming, discussing and agreeing ideas and preferences have been successful! Shortly after the project was put into action, the first orders began to fall. However, the real satisfaction for the Stenik team came from our new and stable partner in the face of Douglas and Beauty Zone.
