More about the profession - Back-End Programmer

>> Hello, Stefan. What does the position of Back-End Programmer involve?

My job is to design and program comprehensive web solutions. I work with the internal infrastructure and system architecture of the website. My task is to create functional online stores that work seamlessly and intuitively. I develop eCommerce projects that leave a positive impact, have a long life, and allow for upgrades.

>> How does your position contribute to Stenik's mission?

At Stenik, I follow the specific requirements of the client and our business analysts and consultants. Following the standards of global technological solutions, I build advanced eCommerce projects that facilitate the work of clients, administrators, and end-users.

>> What motivates you in your work?

Working on diverse projects and meeting the individual requirements of our clients often leads us to solve complex technical and business problems. When my technical team and I successfully offer a working solution to our clients, I feel satisfied. I am also motivated by the team I work with and our collective successes.

>> How does your typical workday unfold?

A typical workday for me involves tasks organized in a ticket system on a precise schedule. I often have meetings to discuss projects with Project Managers and the support team, as well as with clients. On Fridays at Stenik, we don't work on projects and for clients; instead, we focus on acquiring new knowledge, useful solutions, and exchanging experiences within the team.

>> What team do you work with?

I work in a cohesive team of Back-End and Front-End programmers, under the mentorship of our technical director. We actively collaborate with Project Managers in the development process of new projects. For upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting technical issues in online stores, I work with eCommerce Support specialists.

>> What knowledge does a Back-End Programmer need at the beginning of their development at Stenik?

Anyone starting as a Back-End programmer should know programming languages, have at least a theoretical understanding of functional and object-oriented programming, have experience with software platforms, understand technologies, algorithms, data structures, and technological frameworks. In the beginning at Stenik, you can easily upgrade your knowledge by working on real and interesting projects and learning from our experienced technical team.

>> What skills have you gained in the company?

At Stenik, I underwent various internal training sessions and gained solid experience in developing online stores. This helped me expand my range of technologies, acquire new knowledge related to building eCommerce projects, following best practices, and integrating the Magento eCommerce platform with external systems.

>> Advice for anyone starting in this position.
