The developers from Stenik dedicated themselves to a "green office" in the Tetevenski Balkan

The developers at Stenik, led by our technical director Nikolay Dimitrov, have organized an autumnal "green office" - a beneficial practice for the work process, which we will describe in the following lines.

Developers from all over the country gather

Behind our idea for a "green office" are the hours of remote work that the situation both in our country and around the world has necessitated. Within our team, we have colleagues who work from different cities rather than our office in Sofia, and remote work gave rise to an idea, which turned into a way for us to come together again for a day or two, without disrupting our task schedule.

The idea was immediately welcomed by our technical director, Nikolay Dimitrov, as well as the rest of the team. And the organization began.

What is a "green office"?

In short, the "green office" involves organizing and conducting a full working day in nature. Its purpose is, on the one hand, to gather the team or part of it in a new and rejuvenating environment, without in any way disrupting the work schedule and processes.

"The green office" is a fantastic alternative to the typical day in the office, with the difference that it acts as super motivating and energizing. In addition to getting to see each other, colleagues managed to work together side by side, both on client tasks and on internal projects and optimizations that require their resources.

The location and conditions - key aspects in organization and implementation

For the location, we chose Balkan Center, Ribaitsa village. The place offers an excellent business center and the possibility to conduct a full working day. The convenience lies in its proximity to the accommodations, eliminating the need for additional transportation.

Balkan Center also took care of providing a rich breakfast and lunch for the team, while the evenings were filled with delicious barbecues and meaningful discussions about work and more. The gracious hosts even recommended a great local restaurant for the team to prepare for the workday and upcoming meetings upon arrival.

Furthermore, the nature and surrounding environment had an exceptionally positive impact on everyone in the team. The new working environment, even only for a day, undoubtedly fulfilled its main purpose - bringing everyone together and providing them with an incredible creative boost.

Surprises and usefull practices

"The green office" surprised our team with an unexpected early snowfall, blanketing the surroundings in white. This made the fireplaces in the villas even cozier and contributed to pleasant conversations and merriment.

Our devloper's team managed to gather for the first time in a while and exchanged valuable practices and experiences. Their positive assessment of the overall experience convinces us of the effectiveness of such gatherings. "The green office" is an excellent practice for escaping the new normal and reuniting our teams after extended periods of remote work.
